Medical student researcher
Swapna Vaja is a medical student researcher with interests in orthopedic surgery, clinical AI, and medical-device evaluation. Current work spans musculoskeletal imaging, clinical outcomes research, and evaluation of emerging medical technology.
Clearance to Clinic began with a practical question: after a device is authorized, how much human evidence supports the specific function clinicians are being asked to use?
Mission
This project connects each included device’s FDA record and, where located, relevant human studies, registered trials, and FDA recall records. It is a research and educational resource for readers who want to examine the source record themselves.
Entries separate 510(k) clearance, peer-reviewed validation, workflow utility, and patient outcomes. Unverified commercial claims do not determine inclusion or evidence stage. Sponsor-submitted evidence in FDA records is labeled FDA-only, and version or function uncertainty is stated directly.
Role and boundaries
The editor identifies candidate devices, checks primary regulatory records, links function-matched evidence, and assigns evidence stages using the rubric stated on this site. The index does not rank products or recommend treatment.
This is an independently produced personal project. It is not an official project of, affiliated with, or endorsed by any university, hospital, journal, professional society, manufacturer, or government agency.
Content is for research and education only. It does not provide medical advice, establish a clinician–patient relationship, recommend devices, or replace FDA labeling, clinical judgment, or institution-specific guidance. Inclusion is not endorsement, and absence does not establish that a device is unsafe or unsupported.
No project funding, advertising, manufacturer support, or relevant financial relationships are reported as of August 24, 2026. Inclusion and stage decisions are not for sale. Suspected errors may be sent to corrections@clearancetoclinic.com; substantive changes are logged publicly.
